Eva Longoria Sends Mixed Messages

All-about-town girl Eva Longoria was spotted strolling around Beverly Hills yesterday, running errands, doing some window shopping, and dressed as a veritable billboard for any cause she might feel passionately about.

She reps some hometown love -and simultaneously covers up her ill advised haircut- with a San Antonio Spurs hat. She keeps it simple but strong in an OmniPeace t-shirt. She takes time to chat on Obama-ed out cell phone (Obamista alert!).

I know some of you might think that I’m going to bust on Eva for repping too many different things at once, but as a matter of fact, I have no issue with her hat or her shirt or her Blackberry. I respect a girl who isn’t afraid to show her support for a cause. My issue rests on two things about these pictures that just don’t belong…her giant, silver chandelier earrings and her enormous, spiky hooker heels.

I can understand a celeb wanting to take a break from the glitz and glamor of the red carpet by dressing down one day, but by the looks of this outfit, Eva is fighting with some confused internal forces telling her to look meaningfully casual and to prove that you are a fancy pants all at the same time. Then again, those shoes don’t exactly say “fancy” to me. They’re more like “I charge by the hour” shoes.
