América Ferrera: The Anti-Eduardo

Election day is finally here (I just got back from a half-hour wait at my local polling place) and for voters in California, Florida, Arkansas and Arizona, more than presidents are on the ballot.

We’ve already heard closeted pretty boy Eduardo Verástegui’s old world opinion against gay marriage, abortion, John McCain…to the point where we’re just tired of hearing this clown speak. But luckily, some words of reason from ‘Ugly Betty’ to counter things out!

The always lovely América Ferrera released a statement expounding her opposition to the anti-gay marriage propositions on today’s ballots.

Votar ‘No’ a la propuesta 8 (en California) no se trata solamente de los derechos de los gays, sino de preservar la integridad de la igualdad de los derechos este país. No se trata de ser gay o no, sino de ser estadounidense. Vote No a la proposición 8.”

Go, América! I guess Lindsay won’t be able to hate on you anymore. A vote from América means a vote toward her wedding…that is, if she hasn’t changed her mind about being a lesbian again.

For blogs that represent themselves as open-minded and against bigotry, I find it incredibly hypocritical of you to constantly refer to Eduardo Verastegui as a closeted homosexual. Why? Because he has a moral code that doesn’t agree with yours? Because he’s choosing to voice his opinions rather than being criticized into silent submission by the radically liberal media? I, for one, whole-heartedly endorse and support Eduardo’s positions. Striving to be “hip” and “open-minded” is simply another way of giving in to peer pressure.

Trying to force your opinion on others? Ha! Talk about pressure. Where does he get off trying to dictate the lives of women OR homosexuals? It has nothing to do with being “hip.” Its about being intelligent and tolerant.

homosexuality has nothing to do with “morality”. So since gay people are born attracted to the same sex prodominately, they somehow are also born with a “moral code” different than anyone else’s? give me a break, que tonteria. Ignorant viewpoints such as yours Amy are on the decline, it’s so exciting to see progress in the face of such misguided and essentially falsely based opposition. People can have an opinion without wanting to be “hip”, it’s a matter of right and wrong.
