We Want More!
In my daily searches to bring you Lossip readers the most recent chisme, photos, and videos from the Latino world, I often get frustrated by the fact that there are so many nasty, pasty, scared-looking messes out there, especially in the modeling world.
Where are our beautiful mujeres? If you ask me, we’re ten times more fabulous than the random Russian girls everyone trips all over one week, and forgets about the next.
I’ll admit that beautiful women are found all over the world. But looking at your average beauty mags, you certainly wouldn’t think so. Honestly, I’d be more likely to read through some of these high fashion magazines if I saw women who looked a little more like me.
So here’s Lossip’s tribute to the devastating beauty of dominicana Arlenis Sosa, featured in the December issue of VOGUE. Click through the other photos from the accessories spread in next month’s issue, and tell me Arlenis isn’t the most fabulous one of them all?

Tears almost came out of my face. Do you know how hard it is that you always have to defend or prove your Latiness because you are not the same shade as Jenny from the Block but yet you are proably more latin than everyone in el barrio. I think this is a step in the right direction. I will continue to look to you in helping me break the sterotypes of latinos. Gracias from your Platano 4ever

Arlenis looked amazing on the runway this season. Her smile and her sense of personality certainly make her memorable (as does the fact that the is not a paler shade of white). She’s not as compelling in editorials but many models have a learning curve in that area. And many of them, such as Catherin McNeil, do end up really improving in editorials.
Oluchi Orlandi is beautiful too
Arlenis and Oluchi are gorgeous!! And so is that Lakshmi. Their faces just have genuine, natural beauty in them.
