In the Name of Latino Solidarity
Ok, so while I will admit to not being J. Lo’s biggest fan (come one! The girl can’t act to save her life and yet she’s the highest paid Latina in the biz?) I’ve got to make it clear to all you Lossip readers that a deep and great respect for all Latinos is what I’m all about.
Also dispelling rumors of brown-on-brown hate is Juanes, who recently spoke out against the rumored war of envidia that some say has been raging between him and his fellow colombiana, Shakira.

Apparently, some media shit starters claimed that the two were secretly competing with one another to see who was the better singer/humanitarian.
Now that is where we draw the line. Both Juanes and Shakira have taken great lengths to help the situation in their home country via their respective charities (his “Fundación Mi Sangre” and her “Fundación Pies Descalzos”) in addition to being phenomenal songwriters.
So just to clarify, its the vanidosas that we hate on, not random Latinas. If you have the money to help your people, why not use it?

So you dont like Jlo …we get that. That you dont like her acting, got that too that your upset at her salary got that. But I disagree with you I think Jennifer is a good actress I enjoy her movies, and based on her over-all boxoffice numbers so do a whole lot people.
But the point is that you go out of your way to find things to put JLO down even the fact that she is selling her house, you took the time to make nasty comments when it was not neccesary.
let the bitterness go. There are lots of Latinos makin mucho dinero, and I dont think they are worth it, BUT THEY HAD THE SMARTS TO GET IT, THEN GOOD FOR THEM. THE MORE LATINOS MAKE IT THE BETTER.
BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER …AND TO ME JLO IS BEAUTIFUL AND I AM PROUD THAT SHE IS LATINA.

its a fact that you go out of ur way to focus in on everything YOU hate about JLO….it can be the tiniest appearance of her at dinner or something and shes called a wax face and marc is called skeletor- who by the way, is a hugely famous singer in the salsa community. Branch out. Jen is famous for knowing how to act. period. and while i am not the biggest fan of her singing ballads, she didnt get in the business from singing- it was from acting- did u not watch Selena? she WAS selena in that movie. right down to facial expressions and body language and SPEAKING voice, etc. To be an actor means to study who you are portraying-it takes intelligence. and shes smart. so why be mad about her making money as a result? She had the guts to go for it in the first place- before there were numerous latinas famosas in the industry.
and in reference you your comment asking “if you have money to help your people, why not use it?” : THEY BOTH DO. They donated money to The Children’s Health Fund’s Operation Assist for Katrina survivors- who by the way- were of all races- INCLUDING latino. As well as showing their support-which I’m sure included monetary support for the Hospital Auxilio Mutuo Cancer Center and Sociedad America del Cancer- BOTH in Puerto Rico.
Do your research before calling someone simply vanidosa and claiming they do nothing for their fellow latinos. Yes, you dispelled rumors of Shaki and Juanes, but look at the difference between how you title and word those posts as opposed to the ones about Jen.
It took you forever to stop hating on Jessica Alba- cuz she was being vanidosa for doing the opposite as JLO- frowning too much-according to you- if i just had a baby i wouldnt want paps in my face either! But now that shes gone glam and is a spokeswoman for caprini , youre back to loving her.
I understand that the whole point of this site is part gossip, part trash talk, part praise, etc. I get it. But be consistent.
If youre posting about someone whos just really been ridiculous lately(like A-Rod) then fine-no problem. Theres reason to that. Its public ignoreance they are portraying. But theres a line drawn when the person has done nothing but come out to an event or look tired b/c she JUST HAD TWINS like Jen.
Bottom line: We are all Latinos, lets not be crabs and try to bring down those that have made a name for themselves just because of personal dislike.
