Oh…my Gael. How beautiful you are! The terribly handsome mexicano Gael Garcia Bernal recently opened up about his new film, “Blindness.”

The movie, set to open today, tells the story of a world gripped in a blindness-inducing epidemic, with the disease’s first victims quarantined together in a psychiatric ward. The film also stars Mark Ruffalo, Julianne Moore, and the beautiful Brazilian, Alice Braga.

Though it sounds like the film is just riding on the coat tails of all these post-apocalypse flicks out (I Am Legend, Dawn of the Dead, etc.), Gael stands by his flick, saying:

Siempre pensé que esta era una historia trascendente, porque trata sobre la imposibilidad que tenemos los humanos para vivir juntos y en paz, es como si tuviéramos un tipo de ceguera, aunque podamos ver.

Whether the movie turns out to be a bust or not still remains to be seen, but one thing remains certain: Gael may play a blind guy in the film, but luckily for us, he will always undoubtedly be pleasing on the eyes!
