You heard right! Lovely Ana de la Reguera, currently on the set of “El Traspatio,” a film about the disappearances of the women of Juarez, has begun receiving death threats.

According to Ana, both she and the rest of the film’s cast and crew began receiving anonymous death threats upon their arrival in town.

But while Ana may have been scared shitless for a while, she says its nothing compared to what the people of Juarez have to deal with on a daily basis.

“Decidimos seguir con la película… La gente en Juárez está acostumbrada a vivir amenazada.”

After globe trotting premieres, el Che has finally made it to Hollywood, with its Saturday premiere at the world famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Plenty of superestrellas were out on the red carpet for the premiere, all styling some classic black and looking good…except for a portly and disheveled Joaquin Phoenix. But the guy was repping some Obama love, so I’ll overlook it.

However, since determining one’s latinidad is a subject of hot debate, I’ll ask all you Lossip readers for feedback. So, Joaquin Phoenix (who has definitely looked better) was born in Puerto Rico, but his family is not Puerto Rican. They were travelling American missionaries.

So what’s the verdict? Some of you hated on me for saying Gisele wasn’t a real Latina, since technically, she’s just a Brazilian-born German. What gives? Please stop the hate, since I’m asking this time.

But for Ana de la Reguera, Rodrigo Santoro, and the film’s star, Benico del Toro, there’s no need to ask, as these Latinos hit Hollywood for Steven Soderbergh’s latest biopic. Click for more pics from the weekend red carpet.

The 8th annual “Padres Contra el Cancer” benefit gala was held last night in Hollywood, with some of our usual superestrellas rubbed elbows with some that have been missing in action for the longest time (hello, Daisy Fuentes!).

The night was topped off by a scintillating performance by Alejandro Fernandez (I’m a sucker for a man in tight charro pants) as well as the comedic stylings of George Lopez. Other big names in attendance were one very big and very pregnant Constance Marie, Ana de la Reguera, Eva La Rue, Judge Cristina Perez, and the ever mysterious, Eva Longoria.

I know the focus here should be on the benefit, but there’s something about that Eva that I just can’t put my finger on. Is it just me, or does that girl look puffier and puffier every time we see her? Is she still going to be “refusing to comment” on whether or not she’s pregnant six months down the road?

Unless she blames her growing gut on beer, homegirl had better set there record straight soon. Is she or isn’t she?

Seeing glamorous, flawless celebrities can oftentimes make mujeres feel -let’s face it- like hideous dudes. Luckily, there is a bit of justice in the world. Justice we like to call, “make-up.” Who hasn’t felt the salvation of some meticulously applied mascara?  Or stood in reverence to the mysterious powers of foundation and concealer?

Let’s take singer/actress Paty Manterola (pictured above) for example. We’re all used to seeing her looking sexy and seductive. But without her make-up, homegirl looks like her own evil twin!

All those times we sit and look at actresses and singers with their fabulous hair and fabulous faces that make us feel like crap, let us all sit back and remember this post, and find peace of mind in the fact that not only do celebrities look plain and ordinary without their makeup, some of them look like straight up brujas!

It seems like another Ladies Night alum is having success with Hollywood. Ana de La Reguera, who starred in the Hollywood film Nacho Libre, (and who also has the lead role in the HBO show Capadocia) is back with another film for Hollywood called ” Happy Death” with Jay Mohr. Perhaps not as mainstream as her past effort but will surely allow her to do more films in Hollywood in the future. You go superchicas poderosas de Hollywood!
