Everyone’s favorite (and we use “favorite” rather loosely here) tanorexic pop tart, ex-’rebelde’ Anahí, is celebrating her 26th birthday today!
No doubt that, even though RBD has split and there’s no telenovela prospects on the horizon, Anahí’s fanbase will be partying today as if it were a national holiday.
So for all you diehard Anahí fans, or for all you people with an active imagination, hit us back and tell us where you’d like to see your homegirl go with her career now that she’s a 26-year-old retired pop princess.
…but according to recent statistics, Thalía is the most-searched Latin celeb on Google, outranking Anahí, Paulina Rubio, and even Salma Hayek!
Maybe all the search hits comes from the fact that everyone is starting to forget who Thalía is, especially since the former telenovela queen hasn’t had any major hits and no successful albums in quite some time now.
I’m just throwing out guesses here. Feel free to hit us back with your reasoning!
The long-awaited (or maybe long-dreaded, by some die hard fans) RBD farewell album dropped today, offically marking the end of the five-year pop overload that took the world by storm.
The pop tart quintet officially called it quits via their website back in August, but promised their fans they wouldw put out one more album before going their separate ways.
According to Christian Chávez:
“RBD ayudó a cambiar, aunque fuera un poco, la imagen de la gente, pues buscábamos que esta generación fuera una generación que respetara más los derechos de los demás, que valorara la amistad, la paz y el amor.”
Well, I don’t know about all that, but Chávez did become one of the first openly gay Mexican celeb to gain wide popularity (not even my beloved Juan Gabriel did that! He keeps throwing parties and going on vacation with “friends”).
Follow the jump to read a Q&A with Christian, and click here to listen to RBD’s last single, “Para Olvidarte de Mí.”
Ex-RBD pop tart Christopher Uckerman (oh excuse me, he is now Christopher von Uckerman) might be getting a nasty little egoista streak!
The former ‘rebelde’ recently spoke out saying that RBD was a bigger pop culture phenomenon than either Timbiriche or Menudo!
“En menos años llegamos a lugares en donde éstos no lo hicieron. Nosotros en poco más de cuatro años tuvimos conciertos en tantas ciudades del continente americano… Pero además llegamos a lugares como Rumania y Serbia, entre otros, lo que ellos no.“
Oh HELL no! I don’t know about all of you, but I still have my Menudo vinyl records on prime spots of my shelf, and I’m willing to bet good money that there was at least one or two Russian girls shedding tears over these boys back in the day.
What do you all think? Which Latin teen pop sensation deserves the most recognition?
We had reported earlier that Anahí was in the works to star opposite William Levy in the telenovela, “Sortilegio,” and had already auditioned for the female lead.
But according to the show’s producer, Carla Estrada, Anahí shouldn’t be getting her hopes up just yet:
“A Anahí (de 25 años) la siento un poco pequeñita, pienso que todavía está muy chavita. Será hasta principios de la próxima semana cuando encuentre a la protagonista, no es cosa sencilla, muchas cosas tienen que ver, pero ya falta menos que antes.”
So do did Estrada have in mind? Actually, she had her sights set on Aracely Arámbula, but the actress and new mama turned the project down in order to spend more time with her children.
I guess cubanoWilliam Levy just can’t get his fill of ex-RBD pop tartlets. Maybe its because he knows that the pairing spawns a telenovela with through-the-roof ratings (just look at “Cuidado con el ángel” with Maite Perroni).
So it seems that the next project up for William with pair him with perhaps the most popular rebelde of all: Anahí.
Well, almost. Anahí has been auditioning for a role in Carla Estrada’s next project: “Sortilegio,” opposite William. But as of right now, Anahí hasn’t landed the role just yet:
“En realidad yo no se qué va a pasar. No sé si lo hice bien o mal, si me quedo o no con el personaje, si sería la buena o la mala. Yo he hecho cosas más fáciles, y siento que esto ya es como el siguiente nivel.”
The telenovela will be a revamped version of the 1995 show, “Acapulco, cuerpo y alma,” but seeing as how I was still roaming around elementary school back then, I’m pretty sure I missed that one. Unless it had something to do with “Agujetas de color de rosa,” then I was all over it!

Now for a little more dirt with your votes…its time to decide which diva outranks all others as the one we love to hate the most.
Don’t act like you don’t do this. I read your comments! And I know for fact that these five mujeres get hit with the most hate from you, me, and pretty much everyone out there.
There’s Aracely Arámbula, who has been accused of being a money-grubbing bride-for-hire to a man who might potentially be gay…or, at the very least, has some commitment issues.
There’s Christina Aguilera, who gets burned by us on a weekly basis for dressing like a transvestite tripping on acid.
Anahí, of the now defunct RBD, gets her share of hate thanks to her fake tan, fake teeth, fake hair, and fake talent.
Opinions on Jessica Alba are somewhat split. Well, sort of. There are one or two of you out there that think the sun shines out of her ass, but the good majority of you have never really warmed up to this kind of…sort of…almost…not really…”talented” actress.
And then there’s Jennifer Lopez. From her baby drama, to her man drama, to just her own personal diva drama, Jenny from the Block keeps dishing out tasty, crazy, ridiculous chisme week after week. And for that, we adore her.
You know who we love to hate. Now pick from our nominees, or nominate your own, and tell us which superestrella has a prime spot on your hit list.
In spite of the fact that the Palacio de los Deportes de Madrid didn’t sell out, die hard RBD fans camped out for as much as 20 days in order to secure their seat at the pop icons’ farewell concert…
