The superestrellas of the music industry gathered in Santa Monica last night to honor Universal Music Group chairman and CEO, Doug Morris (pictures above with Mariah Carey).

Stars like Sheryl Crow, Rihanna, Katharine McPhee, Toni Braxton, and even that curly old David Bisbal (is it me, or has this guy been MIA for the longest time?) all came together and walked the red carpet.

The scene inside, however, featured some more hot names (I guess these were the ones who arrived fashionably late).

Keyshia Cole, Jay-Z, the Jonah brothers, Erykah Badhu, Gwen Stefani, Luis Fonsi, and Mariah Carey all put on their fanciest formalwear (that meant top hats and plaid for Badhu) for the sake of Morris, who was being honored for his contributions to his community and profession, and for helping “those in need” by the cancer-researching institute, City of Hope.

An estimated 2 million people celebrated pure Boricua culture in the streets of NYC yesterday, but reggaetoneros like Ivy Queen and Wisin y Yandel jump-started the festivities with an off-the-hook performance in Madison Square Garden on Saturday.

Endless waves of Puerto Rican flags decorated the crowd con mucho orgullo while fans listened to performances by David Bisbal, The D.E.Y., and 50 Cent.

Pop star, David Bisbal has become an expert at hitting the #1 spot on the Spanish music charts, so how does he plan on conquering the same level of victory in the States?

David has teamed up with the unstoppable Barbadian singer, Rihanna. The two have produced a bilingual version of one of her latest hit singles, “Hate That I Love You.”
