I’ll be the first one to admit that there are no Oscar hopes in this movie. In fact, its contribution to the whole of society may very well be counterproductive.
But then again, that doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy watching the pulse-pounding, eardrum-popping, edge-of-your-seat nonsense that was “Fast & Furious.” In fact, I may be tempted to see it all again.
It was cheesy nostalgia that dragged me to the movie theater to see this, but apparently, I wasn’t alone. The action-filled sequel grossed over $70 million this weekend, making its debut the biggest money-maker for an April movie in history. And as if that weren’t enough, it left its own predecessors (”The Fast and the Furious,” “2 Fast 2 Furious” and “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”) in the dust.

The latest músicos to set up a collaboration may be Daddy Yankee and Don Omar, but they’re not just working on one fusion…they’re working on two!
The pair of reggaetoneros reportedly are in the works to record two tracks (one for each of their new albums) in spite of a reported feud that waged between the two singers for a few years.
According to DY:
“En eso estamos. Trabajamos en los dos temas que hicimos con Don Omar para los respectivos discos de cada uno. Cuando salga el mío, Daddy Yankee mundial, les voy a dar tremenda sorpresa, pero no quiero adelantarme. La gente va a recibir pura energía de parte de Don Omar y Daddy Yankee y, cuando decimos energía, estamos hablando de mucha energía. Sí existieron momentos de discordia pero limamos nuestras asperezas y todo volvió a su cauce.”
What do you all think? Some of you swore off Daddy Yankee for good back when he lost his mind and decided to endorse John McCain, but perhaps this new pairing might be enough to lure some of you back to the radio.
The growing number of A-list Obamistas* have decided to take their crusade to the internet, uniting musicians, actors, and comedians in a joint attempt to secure the ever-elusive but all-powerful Latino vote for Democratic candidate, Barack Obama.
This time, they have joined forces under acclaimed music producer Andres Levin and directors from Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Chicago and Puerto Rico to put out “Podemos con Obama,” a musical call to action urging Latinos from all walks of life to come together and elect Obama this coming November.
And the featured superestrellas are definite heavy hitters. George Lopez, Jessica Alba, Paulina Rubio, Alejandro Sanz, Lila Downs, Kate del Castillo, Don Omar, John Leguizamo, and the musical voices of “Yerba Buena” were just some on the boisterous list of 23 featured in the video.
Foreign born, or American born; reggaetonero or soulful balladeer; mexicano, colombiano, puertoriqueño, español; and everything in between! What these Latinos want to stress is their common aim.
Click to watch the simple yet heartfelt campaign of the Obamistas. Seriously, it brought tears to my eyes! I wonder when we’ll see a rebuttal from McCain supporters. It can star Daddy Yankee and Heidi from “The Hills.”
Don Omar has a lot to be grateful for. Justice was served for the ‘King of Kings,’ as he stepped out of a Florida court room yesterday cleared of all charges involving his 2004 case pinning him for gun and marijuana possession.
You best believe El Rey is on his knees thanking God right now! Felicidades!

Don Omar needs to chill. He got all heated over how he was treated in court on July 3rd,
where he came to fight charges of drug possesion.
This all started back in 2004, when someone caught then smoking Pot in a parking lot. The singer still says he’s innocent. Hmm, me thinks though protests too much…

Barack Obama´s politics are conquering the pop culture realm and inspiring artists like Paulina Rubio, Don Omar, and Alejandro Sánz to support his campaign. The trio united to help produce the latest propogada video, Podemos con Obama.

Don Omar knows how to handle his business. The reggaeton star owned-up to the plagiarism lawsuit slammed against Wisin y Yandel by Panamanian reggaeton artist, Fernando Brown (a.k.a. “Nando Boom”).
Don collaborated with the duo in the hit song, “Te sigo buscando,” and claimed responsibility for stealing some of the lyrics in Nando Boom’s track, “Enfermo de amor.” The star offered up $100,000 to dead all the drama involving the lawsuit charges.
Wisin y Yandel should work on adding a couple of zeros to that check instead of sitting back como si nada! Que shady no?
Don Omar is definitely not letting married life hold him back from his duties. The reggaeton star feels stronger than ever since getting married to wifey, Jackie Guerrido less than a month ago.
The newlywed is currently promoting his new urban bachata group, Marcy Place. Their official debut is set to go down in Dominican Republic on May 10th.
He spoke exclusively to Primera Hora,
“Me siento con más ganas de trabajar y ahora lo hago por ambos. No sólo pienso en hacer las cosas pa mí nada más, sino que pienso en nosotros dos.”
“I feel even more motivated to work, and now I do it for both of us. I don’t think about just doing things just for me anymore, I do this for both of us.”
It sounds like Jackie has got his leash on tight! We knew this dime piece was going to turn Don into her papi chulo!

Don Omar appeared as happy as a school kid during his wedding to Jackie Guerrido over the weekend. The ceremony took place at San Juan’s Ritz Carlton in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico and guests like, Ivy Queen, Eliel, Tito “El Bambino, and Tego Calderón attended the exclusive ceremony.
According to People En Espanol, the ceremony lasted only 10 minutes and Don Francisco kicked-off the lovely reception with a toast for the newlywed couple. The party lasted until the early morning and included performances by Gilberto Santa Rosa and the merengue group Karis.
Unfortunately, Mr. and Mrs. Landrón’s honeymoon didn’t go as well as the wedding festivities. They had to postpone their trip to Dubai due to ‘professional obligations,’ but they still managed to celebrate a couple of days in Puerto Rico.
Hopefully this marriage lasts longer than it took their guests to digest their special lobster and truffle risotto!
Felicidades to the happy couple!
