The sexy Cruz sisters -Penélope and Mónica- both hit the red carpet at this weekend’s Goya Cinema Awards in Madrid, but both had some minor fashion mishaps on their way to greet the paparazzi.
Take, for instance, Penélope’s oddly cut dress. From the hips up, she looks as beautiful as ever (if you ignore the sleepy glaze in her eyes). From the hips down…not so much. A floor length dress of heavy black lace with a crotch-high slit? I don’t think so.
Then there’s Mónica, who happens to look great from the neck down. If you ignore her Desperate Housewife/shaggy dog hair do, you might be tempted to think she scored a fashion home run.

Sisters to some of the world’s sexiest women, Solange Knowles and Monica Cruz met up for the opening of MANGO’s flagship store in Soho this week, and both looking perfectly sexy in their own right.
The Spanish label, for which Monica and sister Penelope model and design their own line, made its New York debut with their new store on Broadway in the historic Singer Building.
The star-studded cocktails and dinner at the Shang Restaurant in New York featured one hot performance by Solange in front of a throng of very satisfied looking men, including designer Marc Jacobs.

Yes, you read correctly. That’s no Pene you’re looking at. It’s Monica Cruz, and not hermana Penelope, who was caught flashing her panties yesterday at the MANGO fashion show in Barcelona.
And it seems photographers weren’t the only ones trying to catch a little peek at Monica’s goodies. Whoever that dude is next to her, he’s certainly got his eyes fixed on something, and I’m willing to be its not that plain-faced vanilla woman wearing black stockings with white peep-toe shoes.

Lovely baby look-a-like Mónica Cruz strutted her stuff in Madrid last night for the premiere of the film “Los Años Desnudos” in one devastatingly short black dress and scandalously tall platform shoes.
If Mónica’s general style already tended to lean toward “hooker chic,” (i.e. she had freakish breast implants, offensively platinum blond hair, and a carrot-like fake tan) we might be able to interpret this look as just another cry for attention by yet another hoochie Hollywood mama.
Lucky for Mónica, the sultry española typically has fabulous style (sister video incest, aside), so we abstain any harsh remarks for her and happily nod our fashion approval once again.
Fashion week may be winding down in Mexico City, but Toronto is barely getting its feet wet. And sexy actress turned parttime designer Mónica Cruz came out to see the Spring 2009 MANGO collection walk down the runway.
Both she and look-a-like hermana Penélope design a limited collection of clothes for the Spain-based fashion chain, and while la Pene didn’t make it to Toronto for the fashion show, little sister Mónica was there to smile and cheer for the fierce threads.

La Chica Dorada was captured in a colorful sunrise yellow strapless gown paired with gold accessories, while Monica rocked an elegant marine blue key-hole gown with a stylish snake pendant.
Both of these chicas have the classy look down to perfection, but quién luce mejor?
Spanish Elle Magazine has their game tight when it comes to the art of selling. Their July issue features, Monica Cruz stripping down for an ecological message.
Other Spanish stars are also supporting the cause including, Blanca Romero, Patricia Conde, Elsa Pataky, Leonor Watling, Laura Sánchez, and Eugenia Silva.
We get the importance of saving our water, but we think ELLE cares more about hustling these issues off newsstands!
