It looks like curve-hugging striped dresses were all the rage on the red carpet this week, as both Eva Mendes and Zoë Saldaña rocked similar-looking ensembles.
Eva, at the 100th Anniversary Celebration of Cartier in America, opted for a gold and silver mix. Zoë instead went for some subtle black.

The folks over at Nickelodeon just unveiled their revamped version of baby Latina favorite Dora the Explorer, and it looks like our Dorita isn’t that little anymore!
But fear not, fearful parents! Nickelodeon and Mattel -who helped pioneer the new Dora’s look- announced made it clear that this isn’t going to be another sexified child toy a la Bratz dolls.
“...la empresa de juguetes y la televisora emitieron un comunicado explicando que la nueva Dora no reemplazará a la pequeña heroína, sino que será una muñeca interactiva para niñas entre los 5 y los 8 años de edad, y que lejos de ser un mal ejemplo, impulsará a las niñas a hacer cosas positivas por su comunidad.”
The new Dora is set to be part of a line called “Dora’s Explorer Girls,” which will feature four of Dora’s ‘best friends’ who will be released along with interactive books.
But Nickelodeon and Mattel assure that this new Dora won’t ever make it to the small screen: she will just be featured in her toy line come the Fall, and that the OG Dora will remain as she is.
I don’t seriously expect anyone to pick Lindsay Lohan on this one, but if someone should find it in their heart to take pity on this poor, cracked out mess, more power to you.
I just thought it would be interesting to compare two women, both wearing the exact same dress, and see which one actually looks like a normal human.
Eva Longoria is already relatively skinny, but bobble head/crack head Lindsay takes skinny to a stank level.

The sexy Cruz sisters -Penélope and Mónica- both hit the red carpet at this weekend’s Goya Cinema Awards in Madrid, but both had some minor fashion mishaps on their way to greet the paparazzi.
Take, for instance, Penélope’s oddly cut dress. From the hips up, she looks as beautiful as ever (if you ignore the sleepy glaze in her eyes). From the hips down…not so much. A floor length dress of heavy black lace with a crotch-high slit? I don’t think so.
Then there’s Mónica, who happens to look great from the neck down. If you ignore her Desperate Housewife/shaggy dog hair do, you might be tempted to think she scored a fashion home run.

It’s been all high fashion in D.C. these past few days, thanks to the inauguration of our new President Barack Obama (I just can’t get tired of saying that!).
And last night, the streets of the capital were packed with party goers headed to their glammed up ball of choice.
At MTV’s “Be the Change” inaugural ball, it looks like two ladies made the best use of the classic little black dress, but between Rosario Dawson and Demi Moore, which sexy lady rocked her dress the best?
Was it Rosario’s floor-length, curve-hugging strapless gown? Or Demi’s knee-length asymmetrical little frock?
It was an extravaganza of teen queens at the L.A. premiere of “Hotel for Dogs” yesterday, and our dear hermanita, Selena Gomez, was one of the stylin’ guests on the red carpet.
But it looks like Selena might have stolen the show from the film’s star, actress Emma Roberts (Julia’s niece), as both girls showed up rocking bone-colored dresses, pulled back hair, and bold red lips.

There’s nothing cuter than a chubby baby. Something about little gorditos is just too adorable for words. Luckily, there are two gorditos here today, and their sunglass-wielding mamis look decent too.
Jessica Alba and daughter Honor were recently spotted in L.A. enjoying a day in the park, where Honor received plenty of kisses from mama before a closely supervised ride on the swings.
Across town, model Camila Alves and baby Levi -along with honky tonk dad Matthew McConaughey- took a family trip to the market after having returned from their Brazilian vacation a few days ago.
If it is at all possible to pick between two chubby babies, then have at it, Lossip readers! Tell us which bebe takes the prize. Honor, the sharply dressed princesa with a bow in her hair and some fierce golden shoes? Or little bad ass Levi, who is too cool for shoes or conventional hair styles?

The dresses rocked by Demi Lovato and Rihanna at last night’s AMAs both had the similar elements of frilly, off-white going-to-church fancy, and each in its own right was an o.k. dress.
But where Demi’s dress may have been a little too sedate for such a young girl, Rihanna’s was a little too haphazard, as she kind of looked like she just belted a raggedy tablecloth around herself and threw some gloves on to match.
However, good looks are working on the side of both these ladies, so help us decide who wore their ruffles best.
It was all fancy cocktails and preppy vests last night in L.A., as another club held another celeb-infested event (this time, it was Dsquared2 and W Event at Chateau Marmont).
Among the guests were actress Zoë Saldaña and singing diva Christina Aguilera, both of whom tried to work the tailored magic of a vest.
Where Zoë tried to create a long silhouette by wearing black pants with a black vest over a white shirt, she almost ended up looking like a very tall, very skinny, penguin. Sadly, Christina was no better (pictured above with designers Dean and Dan Caten). She’s sending conflicting messages with her look.
On one hand, its warm enough to wear a boob-hugging vest with nothing underneath. On the other hand, she felt compelled the top the whole look off with a long, wool scarf.
Neither one of these mujeres really rocked their look as fiercely as they could have, but one inevitably must look better than the other!
Mujeres have been dominating the “¿Quién luce mejor?” battleground for far too long. I believe it is now time to put men up for a little judgment too. Hopefully, we’ll be able to settle that age old question of which is more desirable: crazy, bird-like pseudo intellectuals or the strong, studly, silent type with an unusually large forehead?
Actors Gael Carcia Bernal and Rodrigo Santoro both walked the red carpet this weekend in Rome for amfAR’s 2nd Annual Cinema Against AIDS dinner and charity auction. Fashion really isn’t the order of the day here, as both men wore a classic black suit (although for some reason, Gael decided he wanted to style his look up with some mad scientist glasses).
So suits aside, which of these hombres would you rather take home with you to meet your mama? Would she approve more of the artsy mexicano? Or would she be down with the fine brasileño?
